About Us

Natie Marx Hanre MarxThere was never a time where Natie did not realise that God was always with him; regardless, the world and all its pleasures drew him to pursue a career in computers. Natie became a systems engineer, saw the world and pretty soon realised his life was actually empty.

Natie always felt there was something missing, always seeking, not realising what it was…

Suddenly Natie had a life-changing encounter with Christ, spent almost three hours in the presence of God and came out radically changed. Natie immediately began to pursue more of God’s presence spending hours in the secret place! Now as a reborn Christian his life changed from being empty and directionless to one fixed on advancing the Kingdom and living for Jesus.

Hanre grew up in the church, never missing a Sunday except if something went wrong on the farm. When Hanre was thirteen she gave her heart to Jesus on a beach in Margate. Hanre was saved but had no idea what was next, so she tried to live her life the way she thought Jesus Christ would want her to.

As you can imagine Hanre was not very successful. She always knew she was missing out on something but never knew what… Only in later years did Hanre realise she needed to be baptised in water and with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Hanre had her radical experience with God in December 2011 and ever since then God started changing her. Hanre became the woman God wanted her to be, the wife her husband prayed for and the mother their children (Reinette & Keagan) dreamed of.

Encountering God in such a supernatural way left Natie and Hanre with a foundation that the supernatural and the miraculous should be a part of the normal Christian lifestyle. Firmly planted on that foundation they started ministering across the country, mostly in the rural areas. As they went the Holy Spirit worked through them to set oppressed people free. They experienced the reality of Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity]”

Natie believes that this experience is where God led them to where they are today.

Ethni never heard anything about being “Born Again” until she attended Living Word Community Church in North Riding, Johannesburg. Ethni went to a Catholic School in Johannesburg, and they never mentioned that one has to be ‘born again’ The Nuns told you all about Jesus, The Bible Stories and relevant Bible stories. It was only when her daughter, Karyn, who was 15 or 16 at the time, and did not have a drivers licence, wanted to go to church, that they took their daughter to church on Sundays, they ended up in a Charismatic Church, where the Pastor, Doug Hamilton, who always did an ‘altar call’ before he closed the church service, that they heard about ‘being born again’. Therefore one Sunday night in October 1988 Ethne took her daughter Karyn to Church, and at the ‘altar call’ put her hand up, went to the front of the church where someone was  ready to explain to her all about being ‘born again’ that she gave her life to Jesus, that was 31 years ago, and her life has changed somewhat for the better! As a matter of interest when she arrived home that night from church, she said to Ivor, “I have given my life to The Lord” and he said, “What do you want to do that for?”

Ivor went to church as a youngster, was baptised, was confirmed, but it never really meant anything. It was only because his daughter started attending a charismatic church, and they used to go with her, or rather take her there, as she did not have a drivers licence that the truth was revealed to him , as the church she attended always did an altar call. Ethni had given her life to the Lord, so now Ivor had two people who wanted to go to church, not once a Sunday but twice a Sunday.

Ivor really did not understand what it meant to be ‘Born Again” until people from the church came to visit him one Monday night, at home, on February 1989 and explained to him what it meant to be “Born Again”. He then started attending ‘home cells’ and men’s breakfasts and slowly but surely learnt about ‘being a Christian’. In November 1990 he heard and understood ‘the small still Voice’ for the first time. Since then his life has changed drastically, Ivor has been cured of the sickness of being an alcoholic, and have now been a Christian for 31 years, nothing better, tough at times, but worth it.
